The Steamship Authority is accepting applications and resumes to fill the full-time, permanent, non-union position in the Information Technology Department of IT Administrative Coordinator.
Job Description:
The Information Technology (IT) department is seeking a motivated, organized, and proactive General Administrator to support daily operations and ensure the effective management of IT resources. This role requires strong time management skills and initiative and the ability to oversee purchase orders, invoices, asset tracking, and vendor maintenance contracts, while ensuring all purchasing aligns with budgetary guidelines. This position reports directly to the Director of Information Technology.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Provide administrative and operational support for IT functions.
* Process and track purchase orders, invoices, and departmental expenses.
* Manage IT asset lifecycle, including procurement, inventory, assignment, and disposal.
* Oversee vendor maintenance contracts for hardware, software, and services, including renewals.
* Ensure purchases align with budgetary constraints and organizational policies.
* Maintain accurate documentation, records, and reports.
* Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to support IT purchasing and contract needs.
* Use Microsoft Office Suite for reporting, documentation, and communication.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
* Associate's degree in business, IT, or related field; or equivalent experience required. Bachelor's degree in business administration or IT Management preferred.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) required.
* Experience with vendor and contract administration required.
* Experience with asset management practices required.
* Experience in processing purchase orders and invoices required.
* Ability to make purchases consistent with budgetary constraints required.
* Strong organizational and time management skills required.
* Prior experience in an IT department or technolology-focused organization preferred.
